I learned recently that UC Berkeley has its own typeface. UC Berkeley Old Style, redrawn and digitized by Richard Beatty, based on University Old Style by Frederic W. Goudy. There’s also suggested font pairings, which explains why I see so much Gill Sans, especially when hanging around Berkeley Institute of Design.
