Overview

E98: The Insider's Guide to Berkeley Engineering is a student-organized and student-taught course at UC Berkeley in the College of Engineering. As an E98 instructor, I co-teach a class of 20 freshmen engineering students, 1 hour per week for 12 weeks, introducing them to the world of Berkeley Engineering. The E98 curriculum includes:

Preparation

To prepare for this role, I reflected on my experiences as a Berkeley engineering student, and thought about what I would want to emphasize to freshmen who are new to the school so I can contribute to their success as a Berkeley engineer. Personally, I hope that freshmen leave the class not just with knowledge about Berkeley engineering resources, but also with an understanding of the importance of proactivity, courage in the face of failure, and effective teamwork.
